Oh my god it's was early when we got up at 4:30am feet hitting the ground running. Shoot, we hardly slept a wink. Pitter pat, pitter pat as Gabo runs back and forth on the hardwood floors in his cycling shoes. I ran to the kitchen to zap the burritos I prepared last night and boom we were out the door with our coffee in hand. What a great start!
I have to say that through the multiple times I have done the ride veterans have learned how to enjoy and be grateful for the rest stops. The Roadies (or volunteers) create themes at each rest stop. They dress up, create skits, songs and entertain us when we are pulling in for a rest stop to get water, snacks, etc.
